Automotive Workshop Resin Flooring Installation | Mansfield

Project Overview:

Monarch Resin Floors completed a resin flooring installation within an automotive workshop in Mansfield. The existing tiled floor was heavily damaged and required complete removal before a new flooring system could be installed. The project included floor preparation, levelling, the installation of a 2mm Monargrip resin flooring system and new operational line markings.

The works were completed in two phases to minimise disruption and allow the workshop to remain operational throughout the project.

Scope of Work

The existing tiles were removed to expose the concrete substrate beneath. Residual tile adhesive was then mechanically removed to provide a clean and suitable surface for the new flooring system. Once preparation was complete, the floor was primed before a pump floor was installed. This created a smooth and consistent base over which the resin flooring system could be applied.

A 2mm Monargrip system was then installed in a light grey finish across the workshop. The light grey resin provided a clean and consistent appearance while helping to improve brightness throughout the working environment.

The installation also included:

The line markings were installed using Monarcoat 700, a durable epoxy coating suitable for industrial floor marking applications.

Installation Considerations

The condition of the original tiled floor meant that several stages of preparation were required before the resin system could be installed. Removing the tiles and remaining adhesive was necessary to expose the concrete and provide a suitable foundation for the new flooring. The pump applied floor then helped correct irregularities within the substrate and create an even surface for the Monargrip system.

As the workshop needed to remain operational, the project was divided into two phases. This allowed separate sections of the floor to be prepared and coated while reducing disruption to the client’s day to day activities. Careful sequencing was also required around the testing pit, ramps and vehicle bays to ensure that the markings aligned with the operational layout of the workshop.

Completed Result

The completed installation transformed the heavily damaged tiled floor into a seamless and clearly organised workshop surface. The light grey Monargrip finish provides a clean and consistent appearance across the space. White bay markings clearly identify vehicle positions, while the yellow hazard chevrons improve visibility around the inspection pit.

Line marking around the testing pit and ramps further defines the operational areas of the workshop and supports an organised working layout. The result is a practical resin flooring installation designed around the daily requirements of a working automotive facility.
