Where is epoxy resin used?

Epoxy resin flooring is widely specified across industrial and commercial environments where a durable, seamless and hard wearing surface is required. Its versatility means epoxy systems can be adapted to suit different levels of traffic, slip resistance, chemical exposure and aesthetic requirements.

Monarcoat 700

Used to create hatched areas, mark pedestrian areas, vehicle charging stations, areas to keep clear, zebra crossings, vehicle bays etc. This is a resin line marking product used widely in the industrial sector.

Monarcoat 720

Typical areas of usage are in light manufacturing, automotive workshops, warehouses and industrial units. Monarcoat 720 creates a dust-free and durable surface.

Monarflake

Monarflake is a decorative epoxy floor system. This system is a combination of coloured resin, clear resin and a customised blend of flakes. This produces a speckled look which has a busy appearance making any future scratches hidden.

Monargrip

Monargrip is an epoxy floor coating which has excellent levels of slip resistance even in the wettest of areas. It is ideal to install this epoxy in factories, food and drink factories, wet rooms and laundries as well as the automotive sector.

Monarquartz

Monarquartz is a decorative epoxy floor screed which can be designed to many colour variations much like Monarflake. It offers high levels of durability as well as its decorative properties. It is widely used in the commercial flooring sector as well as domestic garage coatings.

Monarflow

Monarflow is suitable for use in light manufacturing, electrical component assembly, food and drinks processing, workshops and maintenance areas, aircraft hangers, power stations, warehouses and storage areas. It is a self-levelling, self-smoothing epoxy topping. It also comes in a polyurethane system (Monarflow PU) and an anti-static system known as Monarflow PU AS.

Epoxy resin flooring - automotive

As epoxy is one of the most common it is used in many settings. However, the most common area which you can find an epoxy floor is in the automotive sector. This can be within commercial garages and MOT bays as well as the more decorative epoxy products which feature in car showrooms and domestic garages. Two of our products you will find within this sector is Monargrip and Monarcoat 700. Monargrip is an anti-slip flooring system with non slip properties and Monarcoat 700 is a resin line marking product.

The Monargrip resin system is a method of introducing quartz sand between the layers of resin to create a level of grip. Together with the resin, the quartz sand creates a gripped texture which gives high levels of slip resistance. These levels of vital in some industries as part of their health and safety guidelines. Within automotive epoxy, as a result of this product, the floor will have more tread for tires and higher slip resistance in both wet and dry areas.

Monarcoat 700 as a line marking tool creates the MOT bays, Hatched areas as well as being used as gangway line marking to divide vehicle traffic. Scientifically speaking ‘epoxy resins, also known as polyepoxides, are a class of reactive prepolymers and polymers which contain epoxide groups.

Epoxy resins may be reacted (cross-linked) either with themselves through catalytic homopolymerisation, or with a wide range of co-reactants including polyfunctional amines, acids (and acid anhydrides), phenols, alcohols and thiols (usually called mercaptans)’.

This refers to the process of epoxy hardeners matching with the correct epoxy base to form an epoxy coating which cures in a certain time as per each product.
