What is Monarflow?
Monarflow is a three component epoxy resin based floor material applied as a semi-free flowing liquid 2-3mm thick which cures to a smooth gloss finish. The epoxy resin is a strong, easy to clean floor substrate installed by Monarch. As well as this, Monarflow offers a thicker application through trowel application as opposed to a roller applied floor coating. This epoxy resin topping creates a 2-3mm finish which presents as a smooth and seamless finish.
Monarflow is a self-levelling / self-smoothing epoxy coating meaning it is usually used in instances where a floor is uneven and required a smooth, durable finish. However, it is not limited to just its self-smoothing properties, Monarflow is also seamless floor system which means it does not trap dirt or bacteria between floor seams such as with wood, vinyl and tiling. A seamless resin floor is hygienic because of its seamless finish, it is easy-to-clean or sanitise.
Because of its thickness, Monarflow may last longer than other resin systems. This is due to its very tough and durable surface. It will remain tough against constant pedestrian footfall and vehicle traffic. Monarflow is available in 2mm and 5mm versions and displays all the advantages of the coatings with the added advantage of increased durability. Typical areas of usage include; electronics, printing works, pharmaceutical production areas etc. Monarflow is ideal for use in the manufacturing industry and is specified for use where a hard wearing, dust-free, seamless, easy clean floor surface is required.

Monarflow PU & Monarflow PU AS
A variation of the Monarflow epoxy resin product is Monarflow PU which is a polyurethane resin. Monarflow PU offers extra chemical resistance which is particularly useful in areas where solvents or harsh chemicals are used. As it a chemically resistant polyurethane topping it is not damaged by some chemicals as other substrates such as concrete are. Because of this factor, it is suitable for a lot of industrial sectors.
Monarflow is available in 2mm and 5mm versions and displays all the advantages of the coatings with the added advantage of increased durability. Typical areas of usage include; electronics, printing works, pharmaceutical production areas etc.
Surface to which the finish is to be applied should be a minimum of 25N, laitance and contaminant free. The substrate should be dry to 75% RH and free from rising damp and hydrostatic pressure. Floors to be mechanically prepared and primed to achieve full seal by applying Monarprime epoxy resin primer in one or two coats. Monarflow PU FX to be applied by trowel at require thickness(2mm +) and spike rollered to remove air entrapment.
In summary, Monarflow is an epoxy resin flooring system which is often used as a self-levelling or self-smoothing coating. Monarflow is applied using a trowel as opposed to a roller applied coating which gives it an extra thickness. Because of its thickness, the resin becomes more durable and able to withstand constant use from both vehicle traffic and pedestrian.
As well as Monarflow, there is also the PU and PU AS variations. Monarflow PU is a polyurethane resin with extra chemical resistance. Another variation is Monarflow PU AS which is an antistatic polyurethane system, used in areas where small electrical componants are found.
