Whether your factory manufactures large equipment or small parts it is important to have the right floor in place. As a manufacturing flooring option, resin provides a surface which is able to withstand a busy industrial environment.
One of the main advantages of using resin within a manufacturing facility is that it is heavy-duty and therefore hard wearing. A resin floor will be able to withstand a lot of vehicle traffic including forklifts going back and forth with heavy pallets. As a high-build coating, resin is able to show little amounts of wear after years of constant use.
As a non-slip industrial coating, resin can be installed at different levels of slip resistance depending on what is needed. For example, if there are a lot of vehicles going back and forth a high level of grip increases the level of tread for those vehicles. As well as this the grip within the floor can aid in the slip resistance where liquids are likely to be present. This includes oils and fats associated with food and drink factories and car manufacturing facilities.
As a seamless flooring solution, resin provides an even, smooth surface to walk on. If you have previously had a concrete floor you may find that over time the floor can become damaged and uneven. Self-levelling resin can be installed over a concrete floor to create a more even surface. This can be after resin floor repairs take place to fill in any larger holes and shot blasting/diamond grinding is used to smooth out the surface.
If your manufacturing facility has a lot of machinery it is likely that there will be oil spillages from these machines. This can cause a resin floor to fail due to contamination if it has not had an oil tolerant primer installed beforehand. As we have been installing resin for over thirty years, we make sure we take into account these factors.
The resin flooring installation was meticulously planned and executed, ensuring a seamless integration with the school’s existing infrastructure. The result is a visually striking and highly functional floor that has received widespread praise from both the school’s administration and the local community.

Resin line marking may also be something you want to consider when looking at a resin floor. This added feature can make a huge difference in the way a building operates. This may be the addition of walkways, hatched areas to be kept clear, forklift charging stations etc. The organisation, production and safety can be improved with these small additions. As well as this you can add numbers, letters or symbols to the floor such as arrows to lead to fire exits. This is just another way in which resin can be a huge advantage in a manufacturing environment.
Along with the resin line marking, different coloured resins may be used to section of different areas of manufacturing. One colour for processing, one for packaging as an example. We also install coloured resin car park solutions which can be used to section of loading/unloading and delivery areas.
Resin floors are also slip-resistant, enhancing safety for students and staff. Additionally, they are available in a wide range of colors and designs, allowing for customization to match the aesthetic of the educational environment.
Resin floors have been successfully installed in various educational facilities, including infant and junior schools, secondary schools, technical colleges, and universities. Other educational settings that have benefited from resin floor installations include libraries, laboratories, cafeterias, and administrative offices.
Depending on the manufacturer which is used, and the product being installed, there are a variety of advantages to installing resin as a manufacturing flooring solution.
Monarch has worked with many different manufacturing companies over the last thirty years and understand that each factory is different. They all have a unique structure, design terms and floor requirements. Most of the factories which need a new resin floor will also have the need for proper floor preparation. This is due to the many years of wear and tear which can happen when you have a very busy working environment.
In this instance, we installed an epoxy resin floor to a stainless steel parts manufacturing facility in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Previously the floor had been painted with a thin resin coating which had not been prepared/primed properly. Because of this the floor had become worn down and uneven. As well as this the old resin coating was repeatedly failing because of the oil from the machinery contaminating the surface. The floor needed to be properly prepared first with oil tolerant primer and the contamination removed.
In summary, they needed the old resin floor removing, proper floor preparation/priming and a new durable resin coating throughout the factory. They also required resin line marking to create gangways within the building showing clear pedestrian access/routes.
In summary, Monarch installs industrial coatings throughout England which provide for a hard, durable floor covering. We specialise in non-slip industrial flooring for the manufacturing sector to allow extra grip in busy settings. We also install resin line marking within factories and manufacturing facilities which create walkways, hatched areas to keep clear and section off machine charging areas.
