Monarch Resin Floors recently completed a 150m² decorative resin floor installation for HD Sports in Sheffield, a leading manufacturer of elite ice-skating blades. The client wanted to create an impressive, customer-ready space that reflected the quality of their products and created a clean, modern area for visitors.
Using our Monarflake system in Arctic, we delivered a bright, durable, and visually striking finish that enhances the space and creates a professional first impression for potential customers.
Scope of Work
- Repairing and Preparing the Substrate
We repaired and filled all existing joints, so they ran cleanly through the final resin floor.
Our team then mechanically prepared the concrete surface, removing contaminants and creating a clean, lightly textured profile for strong adhesion.
- Priming and Moisture Control
We applied Monarprime DPM, our moisture-tolerant damp-proof primer, to lock down the substrate and prevent moisture issues beneath the system.
- Defect Filling and Smoothing
After filling all defects and redundant fixings, we installed Monarflow, our self-smoothing epoxy resin. This created a perfectly flat, even surface ready for the decorative finish.
- Decorative Monarflake Installation
We applied Monarcoat 720 and cast our Arctic Monarflake blend into the wet resin to achieve a crisp, decorative finish.
Once cured, the excess flakes were removed, leaving a consistent and attractive full-flake appearance.
- Sealing and Joint Work
To protect the floor and ensure long-term UV stability, we applied two clear seal coats that created a subtle silk sheen.
Finally, we saw-cut all expansion joints and reinstated them using a flexible polyurethane sealant for a neat, durable finish.

We completed the transformation in 8 days, creating a clean, modern, and highly attractive resin floor that aligns perfectly with HD Sports’ brand and operational needs. The new Monarflake Arctic finish delivers:
