Epoxy based damp proof membrane applied to floors as preparation before coating when there is moisture which may cause future issues
What is Monarprime D.P.M?
Monarprime D.P.M. is a two pack epoxy based damp proof membrane. This is usually applied as a moisture suppressant coating prior to overlaying with any moisture-sensitive flooring system. This epoxy resin is solvent-free which is more user and environment-friendly than other damp proofing systems.
Monarprime D.P.M. should be used in situations where the relative humidity exceeds 75% R.H. or the moisture content exceeds 5%. The application is by squeegee and roller to give a fully sealed surface. Any blow holes in underlying concrete should be filled prior to application, as any pin-holes in the coating will negate the properties of the system. Two coats of Monarprime D.P.M. are required to ensure full coverage of floor.
Damp proofing is a key aspect when looking to install a resin flooring system where moisture is apparent. The membrane stops that moisture getting into the floor keeping it safe from moisture damage and damp growing. This type of system can be used in many different settings including industrial and commercial applications.
