Easy Guide to Domestic Resin Flooring
Step 1: Conversation
Talk to our technical team; we need to know where your floor is being installed, how big the area is and what type of flooring you have now. You can give us a call on 01246 412 222 or visit us at our Dronfield Office on Callywhite Lane.
Step 2: Technical Visit
One of our technical team will come to you when convenient to inspect the floor you have now and talk through what type of flooring system you would like. There will be a chance to look at a few samples and talk over colour schemes.
Step 3: Decisions
Next we need to create the right colour blend for you, whether that’s in a flake finish floor or a metallic systems we need to know which colours you like best so we can create some samples tailor made to you.
For flake finish flooring and metallic flooring the blends can be designed by you to compliment your homes colour scheme and your personal preference. We have a dedicated team which can produce digital images of how your colour blend will look before any installation takes place. We have some popular blends showing on our domestic flooring page, part of the helpful pages listed below.
You can also have a one colour epoxy resin or polyurethane system, you can find our more about these via the helpful pages listed below, or by contacting us. Once that is decided we can go through the final costing.
Step 4: Installation
Resin flooring takes on average a few days to install, we will talk to you about what days are best suited for the installation to take place. We understand it can be difficult to go a few days without a kitchen so please bare that in mind when starting this process. We can them come and install your new resin flooring system!
FAQs of Domestic Flooring
How long does it take to install a resin floor?
To install a resin floor in a domestic environment it takes around 2-3 days, depending on the size of the area and any extras which would be needed such as further coatings, priming but our technical team can go through this with you and answer any questions you may have.
How much does a resin floor cost?
An average flake finish floor would cost around £50/m² – £80/m², obviously this is just a rough figure but you can go through the pricing before work takes place and make sure you are happy with the costs before installation. Prices can change depending on geographical location, type of resin floor, size of flooring installation and the condition of substrate.
Is it easy to clean?
Resin flooring systems are generally very easy to clean. This is because they are a smooth, seamless flooring system.
If you choose a flake finish for your floor then it has a textured-smooth finish meaning it has added slip resistance. This slip resistance is desirable in homes with young children as it aids in grip. Even though a flake finish has this texture it is still smooth enough so dust and dirt will not get caught in the finish. An added feature of a flake finish is that because it is a blend of colours, any scuffs, scratches which happen over time will not be as visible as the floor is patterned.
The smoothness of the final floor can be determined by discussions with our team so that the balance of your floor between the easily cleanable/safety spectrum can be decided.
What can I clean it with?
Resin flooring systems can be cleaned using normal household detergents. For further information, please contact our technical department.
What rooms is it suitable for?
A resin flooring system can go just about anywhere in a home. Some popular areas are kitchens, reception areas, garages, workshops and utility rooms.
Does the sun affect the colour?
We offer a UV stable floor coating for floors which have direct sunlight.
